PTSD and Trauma

All too often, we have experiences that overwhelm our nervous system and ability to cope. These traumatic experiences can leave us reeling, questioning our view of the world, ourselves, and others. Our natural healing process usually involves talking through our experiences with others, but when those experiences are horrific and scary, it can be difficult to find the right person to tell about them.

That's where I come in. I can take it. I have sat with clients listening to their stories for my entire career. I have helped clients recover from traumas as varied as natural disasters, combat, car accidents, medical trauma, terrorist attacks, domestic violence, sexual assault, and childhood abuse. In addition, I support clients who are struggling with vicarious or secondary trauma. One of my specialties is helping people heal from complex trauma (being in an abusive or traumatic situation for an extended period of time) and narcissistic abuse, whether it occurred in your family, your romantic relationship, a cult, or a workplace. It is challenging to come out of of the fog of an abusive situation, make sense of what you went through, and learn to trust yourself again.

Since every individual is different and every trauma affects a person differently, I use a number of therapy and yogic approaches tailored to your needs and learning style. I am trained in numerous evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and mindfulness techniques.

I can't say that it will be easy, but I can say that if you're willing to do the work, it can get better. The healing from trauma starts as soon as you decide to start working on it. If you're ready, click here to schedule a time to meet online over video (Zoom). I'm honored to join you on this journey.
